Beverage producing company, the Coca-Cola Bottling Company Ltd (TCCBCL) and telecom operator Airtel Ghana say they are not running any promotion.
There are messages being circulated to mobile phone users which require recipients to make mobile money transfers to a given number to claim their prizes and rewards.
But a joint statement issued by the two companies said the message is a scam adding that “we are not running any promotion of this nature.”
“Our investigations indicate that this is a scam intended to dupe unsuspecting members of the public by some unscrupulous individuals. We have taken steps to report this matter to the authorities for further investigations,” the statement added.
They further urged the public to disregard such messages or contact Coca Cola on 0302 814844 or Airtel Ghana on short code 222.
“All promotions run by both companies are duly communicated to the general public through official company channels and through the media.”
