Exclusive Men of the Year Awards launched [Photos]

Moving from the usual events that mostly celebrates successful and exceptional women in various fields of endeavors, the Exclusive Men’s Magazine, has decided to recognize men by launching the ‘Exclusive Men of the Year’ awards (EMYs) scheme.

The launch came off amidst plush and glamour at the Alliance Motors showroom on Thursday, March 10.

Exclusive Men’s Magazine is a quarterly men’s magazine and its content bothers on issues and subjects that have to do with the development of men financially, mentally, socially and in terms of health.

The magazine also focuses on everyday lives of men such as family, sports, personal care and relationships.

The tagline of the newly launched awards scheme, “Inspiring greatness”, is geared towards seeking, recognizing and rewarding excellence with the purpose of inspiring greatness.

It also seeks to acknowledge the service of men to family, the community and the country as a whole.

The long term vision of the EMYs is to promote active corporate citizenship and raise pillars for statesmanship and statehood.

The Awards scheme, which has taken four years to blossom, is driven by the Editor in Chief of the Exclusive Men’s Magazine, Clement Owusu-Kwakye, the Executive Director of Carbon AV, Kojo Sobah and the former Director of Television at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Mike Amon Amon-Kwafo.

This awards scheme will honour excellence in fields like the business man of the year, the Communicator award, and the Guardian award for excellence in mentorship.

Ghanaian celebrities like former Black Stars Captain Stephen Appiah, Actor Majid Michel and rapper Okyeame Kwame, were present at the launch. They are expected  to feature prominently in their respective fields when the nomination for the EMY awards are released.

A special faculty, headed by one Kwabena Agyekum, which also includes Gifty Anti-Ansah, Nana Adwoa Awindor and  Paul Adom-Otchere, has been constituted to screen and shortlist the nominees for the various award categories.

Despite the extensive male focus, the EMY will also give a special award to the ultimate woman of the year called the “The Yaa Asantewaa Award”.

The Scheme will also engage in a campaign called “The Treat Her Right Campaign” which will serve as an advocacy platform to engage men in matters of decency and responsibility against women.

The EMY awards show is expected to come off on June 18, 2016.

Man of the Year Sportsmanship – The Sports Man Award

Man of the Year Agriculture – The Green Fingers Award

Man of the Year Philanthropy – The Humanitarian Award

Man of the Year Technology – The Inventor Award

The Discovery of the Year Award – The Pinocchio Incentive

Ultimate Woman of the year Award – The Yaa Asantewaa Award

Ultimate Man of the Year – The Supremo Flagship Award
