“It is 99% complete, and will be fully handed over by October 2016. For Kwahu we’ve completed most of the things and we’ve handed over to the client, so its currently in use by Ghana water”

The Minister of Water Resources, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah, paid a working visit to the site to inspect the project and appealed to the municipal authorities to check human activities that destroy water.

“It is the aim of his Excellency the President to by 2025, every Ghanaian no matter where you are, you should have access to good drinking water, so the government is doing everything possible to make sure that is realized. You have the power to check these human activities that contribute to this situation, and so I’m appealing, please check them because water is life”

On the 16th of July 2009, Parliament approved an amount of $129 million for the construction of the Kumawu water Supply System, Rehabilitation and Expansion of the Konongo and Kwahu Ridge Water Supply Systems, which forms part of government’s plan to increase improved access to potable water supply.
