Citi News’ Kojo Agyemang reported that voting started at 8: 30 am, and that nearly half of the 790 delegates have voted.

Kojo says supporters of both candidates who are not delegates have been prevented by a number of police personnel from accessing the voting grounds.

Why a re-run?

The re-run of the primary was necessitated by a court order after the first primary in August 2015, saw Nii Noi Nortey emerge as the winner.

In that primary, Philip Addison, who was lead counsel for the NPP’s 2012 election petition, polled a meager 22, while Nii Nortey, polled 393 votes.
