A group of Muslims in the country will march through some principal streets in Accra to put pressure on the Nigerian government to expedite action in finding the 200 missing school girls.
The group also intends to send a petition to the National Chief Imam which will then be forwarded to the Nigerian government in Abuja for review.
Over 200 girls were abducted by Islamist group, Boko Haram in a North Eastern Nigerian town called Chibok.
The incident has drawn massive public outcry from both global leaders and the general public who have resorted to social media platforms to demand the release of the 200 abducted girls.
In a recent video released by the Boko Haram, its leader, Abubakar Shekau threatened to sell all the girls as slaves if members of his group who are in prison are not released by the Nigerian government.
The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to dialogue with Boko Haram to ensure the safe return of the girls.
The United States Of America, England and France have sent into Nigeria, a team of experts to aid in the search of the 200 abducted girls.
Speaking to Citi News, some members of the group criticized the actions of Boko Haram and demanded the immediate release of the 200 girls to their families.
“These guys who are doing this are not Muslims; they are just pretending to be Muslims, so we just want our leaders to rise and bring our girls back to their parents”
According to the group, Islam does not frown upon education but it rather encourages people to get educated.
