Ghana’s Baba Rahman is in line to get a place in Chelsea’s team to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage first leg tie.

The Ghanaian left-back will be up for selection after it emerged that Chelsea captain John Terry, did not travel with the Blues to Paris for the match on Tuesday.

Terry strained his hamstring against Newcastle in the Blues’ 5-1 on Saturday, but the post-match scans revealed that he would not be fit the Champions League match at the Parc Des Princes despite training with the team in London before they flew to Paris.

Rahman’s inclusion in the team is made very likely due to the long-term absence of Kurt Zouma.

Chelsea are now left with Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic as options for central defence leaving Spanish player Cesar Azpilicueta and Baba Rahman as the main choices for the full-back areas.

Rahman has played three times for Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League group stages this season.
