British murder suspect to be extradited tonight

The British citizen, Arthur Simpson-Kent, who has been detained in Ghana for allegedly killing his girlfriend and two kids will be extradited to face trial in the UK this evening.

Sources have told Citi News that Simpson-Kent will be accompanied by a team of British Police officers to the UK.

[contextly_sidebar id=”3QOiY4csdGsBZJ4AhvkooiWnQjx0Wxfp”]He was arrested at Busua near Takoradi in the Western Region, after he reportedly fled to Ghana after for killing his girlfriend Sian Blake, and their two children under bizarre circumstances.

He is alleged to have buried the bodies of his family in a shallow grave in a garden behind their apartment at Erith in London.

The family of Sian Blake had “accused him of domestic violence” few weeks before the killings.

His extradition process was ongoing steadily until he told his lawyer to request a voluntary repatriation to the UK.

Stories so far:

January 8, 2016: A British man suspected to have killed his girlfriend, an ex-soap opera star and her two children reportedly fled to Ghana. He is said to have arrived in the country on December 19, 2015.

January 9, 2016: Arthur Simpson-Kent was arrested at his hideout at Busua near Takoradi in the Western Region. This was after a joint Ghana, Interpol and British Police team laid ambush for him.

January 10, 2016: The Government of Ghana confirmed the arrest of Arthur Simpson-Kent.

January 11, 2016: Ghana Police said they were awaiting a formal request from UK authorities to begin processes to to extradite the murder suspect. He was later transferred to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).

January 12, 2016: An Accra Magistrate court remanded into Police custody the British national Arthur Simpson-Kent.

January 26, 2016: Officials of the United Kingdom submitted the necessary documents needed for the extradition of British fugitive Arthur Simpson-Kent.

January 26, 2016: Arthur Simpson-Kent submitted himself voluntarily to be sent to the United Kingdom for trial to begin against him.
