Eric Ohemeng, the third year student of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), whose girlfriend poured acid on him for jilting her, will require three more surgeries at the cost of 55,000 Euros so he can “be normal again”.
The Police on Saturday arrested Esther Enyonam Pekyi, the 26-year-old lady who poured volumes of acid on Eric Ohemeng.
This was after Citi News provided the Police with intelligence leading to her arrest.
[contextly_sidebar id=”B1czy8O7ulxG1tCf0k51hU6QDSloPpaf”]Eric, who was speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Monday said he has already had five surgeries but still requires three more because he cannot move his right hand, as his neck also remains stiff.
Eric’s right eye is totally blind, and according to him, his genitals have also been affected.
He also stated that he will need a hair transplant and some more skin grafting procedures as a result of the injuries.
Eric told the Citi Breakfast Show Host, Bernard Avle, that he needs the surgery so he could feel normal again.
According him, he has had to stay indoors for two months now since he left the Hospital.
“I don’t go out; for the past two months that I left the hospital, I have not gone out.”
A group of seven students from GIMPA have started a “Save Eric Ohemeng” campaign to raise money for his surgery which is to be done in Germany due to the absence of the necessary equipment to do it locally.
According to the group, Unibank Ghana Limited has already donated €10,000 Euros and GHc30,000 towards Eric’s surgeries.
GIMPA also gave out GHc10,000 cedis to cater for Eric’s earlier surgeries.
