Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna has officially taken over as the Minister for Food and Agriculture (MOFA).
He was elevated to the MOFA when President John Dramani activated his second cabinet reshuffle.
At the official handing over ceremony, Alhaji Limuna assured staff of the MOFA of an open door administration.
He inspired the staff to rekindle their team spirit and offer him the right direction to accomplish the task.
Minister’s farewell
Alhaji Mohammed Muniru touched base with Muslim Clerics in Tamale and thanked them for their prayers, guidance and counseling during his reign as the Northern Regional Minister.
Addressing the Ulamah at the Tamale Central Mosque, he admonished the Northern Regional Chief Imam to continue praying for government to succeed in transforming human lives.
Alhaji Limuna reiterated his commitment to liaise with all relevant stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis.
He presented over 300 pieces of the sacred book of Islam (Holy Qur’an) to the chief Imam.
As a regional Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna developed a good working relationship with the media.
Gonjaland Youth congratulates Limuna
The Gonjaland Youth Association congratulated Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna on his elevation.
The association’s President, Alhassan Dramani in a statement copied Citi News said, “The appointment of Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna came as no surprise because of his dedication to duty and his efforts in engaging the politics of the Northern Region.”
“Alhaji Muniru’s elevation from a regional minister to a sector minister for that matter a cabinet minister is but a testimony of his sterling leadership displayed over the three year period as a minister of Upper East and later Northern Region,” he stressed.
Alhassan Dramani impressed upon Alhaji Limuna to revamp the Northern Region recognized as the nation’s food basket.
“It is our fervent hope that northern Ghana will once more bounce back as a food basket in Ghana under Alhaji Muniru as it was the case in time past.”
By extension, the Gonjaland Youth Association congratulated one of its loyal members, AVM Samson Onje on his appointment as Chief of Defense Staff.
“AVM Samson Onje has indeed distinguished himself in his field over the years so his appointment comes as a merit and not a consideration.”
