The member of parliament[MP] for Nadowli/Kaleo in the Upper West Region, Mr. Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin has denied questioning the relevance of the on-going national economic forum on Facebook.

According to peacefmonline.com and the Finder newspaper, Mr. Bagbin questioned the relevance of the forum using his Facebook account.

But Mr. Bagbin  denied the reports saying he does not have a Facebook account.

“I don’t have a Facebook account, so I am surprised about what is happening. It [The report] might be the criminal conduct of some people. I am not on Facebook at all. I don’t have a Facebook account. In fact, I heard of it  this morning when i got in touch with the editor of peacefmonline.com so when I told him I don’t have Facebook he took it off”

He further revealed that, he is gathering evidence  to enable him refer the incident to the criminal investigation department [CID] for thorough investigation.

“I have requested that he gives me the information so that we would investigate, in-fact I would refer it the Criminal Investigation unit for further investigation because I am not on Facebook”- he noted.

Meanwhile, Mr Bagbin took the opportunity to laud the government for the national economic forum initiative and insisted it was the ideal way for government to fast track Ghana’s development.

“The economic forum isn’t about talking about problems it is about finding solutions, I listened to those who are against it and giving some reasons and I am very surprised, because no economy is on autopilot mode, there will definitely be some policies and some decisions that will be in place that are being implemented by the country but by some good reasons either because you want to fast tract your actions, renew your strength and vitality you need to always think together”
