Kwame Gyan joins E.TV and Global Media Alliance

Blogger, journalist and communication practitioner, Kwame Gyan, has joined E.TV Ghana in a dual role as TV Show Host and Head of Brands Communication. Kwame Gyan, was until his appointment the Brand Assets Manager of Airtel Ghana, where he was also at some point the Corporate Relations Manager.

Kwame Gyan brings on board to the Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company over ten years of experience that covers journalism, public relations and brand building.

His journalism career began from the University of Ghana where he was the Student Coordinator for the campus-based radio station, Radio Univers during his undergraduate course.

After graduating in 2005, he continued to CITI 97.3 FM where as a National Service Person. He worked as a Broadcast Journalist specializing in Court Reporting and later became the Presidential Correspondent.

Kwame Gyan later joined Joy 99.7 FM as part of requirements for his Masters’ Programme from the University of Ghana’s School of Communication Studies. He stayed after the internship in 2007 as a Broadcast Journalist until he moved to Newmont Ghana Gold Limited in January of 2008 as an External Communications Officer and then later to Airtel Ghana.

Kwame Gyan will be hosting the revamped daily current affairs show, STATE OF THE NATION on E.TV as well as leading in the brand positioning of the three YFM radio stations in Accra, Takoradi and Kumasi, E.TV and Happy FM.

Commenting on his new appointment, Kwame Gyan said, ‘’I love the new project that the management of Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company (GMABC) are embarking on and I am thrilled to be part of this,’’ adding that, ‘’the Ghanaian media landscape is changing a lot and it is heart-warming to see some media brands taking the practice of journalism seriously and doing it right. Hopefully I will contribute to this change and together we build a media that will be acceptable before God and country” Mr. Gyan noted.

Managing Director of Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company (GMABC), Akwasi Agyeman said “we are thrilled to have Kwame join us; we believe that we can benefit from his experience in journalism, his social media following and his involvement with brand building in rejuvenating the E.TV brand and what we seek to build in the coming years”, he said.

Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company (GMABC) is a company subsidiary by the Global Media Alliance (GMA) Group, responsible for the development and management of the broadcast assets of the company. Currently it operates four radio stations, one TV station and three vibrant online assets.

The mother company, GMA, is an Integrated Communications Company with over 15 years of experience and expertise in Public Relations and Media Consultancy, Broadcasting and Entertainment Services across the West African Sub-Region.
