Presidential staffer, Stan Dogbe’s position at the Flagstaff House currently hangs in the balance as the presidency has acknowledged receipt of a petition seeking to get him punished for his attacks on  journalists.

According to the Flagstaff House, President John Mahama will give the petition its due attention and will make a decision that will protect the interest and reputation of the presidency.

[contextly_sidebar id=”quep3hNwi84knOTqbLxfWm2rB2qXAREw”]The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) in October 2015 petitioned the president to demand punitive measures against Stan Dogbe for making derogatory remarks against some media personnel in the country.

Meanwhile, a letter in response to MFWA’s petition from the Flagstaff House signed by Kwesi Quartey, Secretary to the president and dated November 10, said “His Excellency the President has taken note of the concerns raised in the letter.”

“He wishes to assure the Media Foundation that due attention would be paid to the matter in the interest of protecting the reputation of the Presidency.”

Stan Dogbe in October 2015 incurred the wrath of the Western Regional chapter of the Ghana Journalist Association after he explained that an accident which occurred involving some journalists who gave coverage to the president’s activity in the region were not part of the presidential press corps.

The presidential staffer arguably has not also been in the good books of the media in the country because they believe he molests the presidential press corps.

He is also said to have smashed the recorder of a journalist with the state broadcaster, GBC.
