The Pneumococcal Meningitis disease which has so far killed nine people in Tain, Wenchi and Bruohan in the Brong Ahafo Region, has spread to Techiman, in the same region, killing 6 people there.
Health authorities in the region, confirmed this in an interview.
The Municipal Health Director for Techiman, Dr. Damien Punguyire, in an interview, confirmed there have been 18 cases of the cases with six deaths in Techiman North and South.

He revealed the Ministry of Health has released some money to the region to help fight the disease.
Dr. Punguyire explained that the money from the ministry was not just for Techiman but for the entire region.
“The minister promised the whole region; Techiman is not the only place.
The Deputy Minster of Health, Dr. Victor Bampoe, has already met with the Epidemic Management Committee in Techiman, to discuss ways of combating the outbreak and hinted that an amount of GHc150,000 cedis has been released to fight the disease.
Dr Bampoe also visited some of the meningitis affected districts such as Tain, Wenchi and Techiman.
