An Accra Magistrate court has remanded into Police custody the British national Arthur Simpson-Kent who allegedly murdered his girlfriend, two children and fled to Ghana.
Mr. Simspon Kent who has been charged with murder, was brought before the court for the first time since his arrest to begin extradition processes.
Presenting the facts of the matter in court, the representative of the Attorney General, Rebecca Agyare indicated that Arthur Simpson-Kent was arrested upon a tip off from the UK Interpol showed had arrived in Ghana after fleeing from the UK as a result of an alleged murder of his girlfriend Sian Blake and two children.
He was arrested at Busua near Takoradi on the 9th of January.
The suspect is believed to have buried the bodies of the victims in a shallow grave in the garden behind their apartment at Erith in London.
The Attorney General further prayed the court for the remand of Mr. Simpson Kent as both Ghanaian and British Police were still investigating the incident.
On his part lawyer for the accused Justice Sai complained about the behavior of the Attorney General and the state security apparatus whom according to him have prevented him from seeing his client since his arrest till today when the case was called.
The Judge, Justice Rosemond Agyiri ordered for the lawyers of the accused be given access to their client and adjourned the case to 26th of January 2016.
