Fire has rendered about 200 residents of Dagomba line in Aboabo, Kumasi homeless.

The fire swept through the Dagomba line slum around main Aboabo drain in Kumasi on Saturday evening, destroying about 200 makeshift structures serving as homes to some settlers.

[contextly_sidebar id=”OVfCKrMgteObfBrRbh8QZ0jc4vgK7TJi”]Some children were declared missing while scores of settlers displaced, as  fire destroyed those structures.

Fire officers say they will have to perform an audit of the incident to establish any casualties.

Meanwhile, city authorities have assured the affected persons that they will come to their aid.

This is the third major fire outbreak this year [2016] following the Central market and Roman Hill fires in the same region.

Early last week, the Kumasi central market was engulfed by fire which razed hundreds of items running into thousands of cedis.
