The Government of Ghana has confirmed the arrest of a British murder suspect, Arthur Simpson-Kent, in the country.

The 48-year old Arthur is suspected of murdering his girlfriend, a former EastEnders actress, Sian Blake and her two sons.

[contextly_sidebar id=”gNFKri3ydTiKAVWSonVRIjCEWi1qespW”]A statement signed by the Minister for Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, said Simpson-Kent entered Ghana via the Kotoka International Airport on December 19, just days after the British authorities questioned him about the murder of his former girlfriend.

According to the statement Ghana’s security and intelligence agencies had no prior notification from their British counterparts on his arrival in Ghana, but managed to track his movements and arrested him on Saturday in Busua near Takoradi when the matter was brought to their attention. AhFWcAwdkY8SzH58fEEzVV_tgmgXlQfMwCTsApC_ZT9L

The statement further added that the UK authorities have accordingly been informed of the arrest and are liaising with agencies.

Meanwhile citifmonline.com is reliably informed that Interpol and a British Police team arrived in the Ghana on Friday night and helped to arrest Arthur Simpson-Kent.

The bodies of  Sian Blake and her two sons, eight-year-old  Zachary, and Amon (4) were found in the garden of the house they shared.

Reports from the United Kingdom indicate that the family of 43-year-old Sian had “accused him of domestic violence” only weeks before the killings.
