Two men who were detained by the police in connection with the murder of a Police constable at Weija in Accra, will be arraigned on Thursday December 31.

The alleged cop-killers, Kweku Badu and Ishmael Ahenkorah, were taken into custody by the Brong Ahafo police at Goaso following a tip off.

ASP Christopher Tawiah of the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command, told Citi News investigations were still ongoing and that the police were searching for other accomplices.

“The police are investigating and we’ve gone far since the offence was not committed in Brong Ahafo; so we need to do some initial investigations to ascertain whether there are more of them in Brong Ahafo so that we can also proceed and arrest them and then afterwards, we’ll hand them over to the National headquarters,” he said

He added that the two in police custody will be charged tomorrow [Thursday] after which an official report would be sent to the Police Headquarters in Accra.

“They are currently in police custody in Sunyani and we’ll be taking them to court tomorrow [Thursday] for them to be remanded”.
