The flagbearer of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) Dr. Edward Mahama is optimistic that the coming year will be a better one for the nation.

“I’m a person of optimism and I know that 2016 will be a better year for all Ghanaians including Edward Mahama,” he added.

[contextly_sidebar id=”4LY2KK3Tie6BW6CSvn2ONkzZ4BD0EzUR”]Dr. Mahama believes even though 2015 has been very difficult year, there is hope for a better future in 2016.

In an interview with Citi News, Dr. Mahama said, “I want all Ghanaians to be one at this time. Lets enjoy the message of salvation and lets forgive one another and look forward to a better year in 2016.”

He acknowledges 2015 has been a difficult year on many fronts including health and the economy but he feels the current situation will improve in the coming year if the right steps are taken.

Dr. Mahama will be contesting for the presidency on the ticket of the PNC in next year’s general election following his triumph in the PNC presidential primaries.

He triumphed over Hassan Ayariga, the 2012 presidential candidate for the PNC in the recent party congress.

Dr Mahama, prior to 2012, was the PNC flagbearer in the 1996 presidential elections through to 2008.
