Hundreds of residents of Piobo in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municpality of the Eastern Region, have been asked to relocate following an explosion that occurred at a quarry site in the area.

The explosion,  which happened two days ago killed one person and left three others in a critical condition.

[contextly_sidebar id=”NyXozEaf1pmo8EuQImdhdmYVdm4wPjCG”]The Regional Security Council’s report indicates that other explosives have been discovered on the site which makes it unsafe for residents to live there.

The Deputy Regional Minister, Antwi Boasiako Sekyere who visited the site on Thursday reported that security personnel have been asked to take over the area.

“We have cordoned the place and asked security personnel to ensure that nobody goes there. A lot of damage has been caused as a result of the incident” he said.

Meanwhile Citi News has learnt  that the 38 year old man, Ibrahim Mohammed, who died in the explosion was buried today [Friday].
