A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Anthony Abaryifa Karbo has rejected claims by respected business man Alhaji Asuma Banda that Nana Akufo-Addo can never be Ghana’s president.

The former council of state member, Alhaji Asuma Banda, in a TV interview, expressed doubts the NPP flagbearer could ever become the country’s president.

[contextly_sidebar id=”YXGrupUYRu5vL86NA5HlkgWR4okjZ3hB”]According to him there are key elements a potential president should have, which according to him, Nana Addo lacks.

“The truth is he [Nana Akufo-Addo] can never be president… You see, to be a President, you must have certain structure, intelligence,” he said.

A livid Abaryifa Karbo in response, condemned the comments of Alhaji Banda and directed hin to rather channel his energy into condemning the recurrent scandals in government.

“People like Asuma Banda, have you heard them speak on SADA… why are they quiet on SADA” he querried.

“100 million dollars which is supposed to go to Northern development, why has he been quiet?” he further asked rhetorically.

SADA was set up in 2010 as an independent agency for coordinating a development agenda for the northern savannah ecological zone of Ghana – Upper East, Upper West and the Northern Region, and north of Brong-Ahafo and north of the Volta Region.

Following the revelation, President John Mahama ordered the termination of certain contracts under SADA in consultation with the Attorney General.
