The newly appointed Campaign Manager for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu has promised to reconcile all disgruntled members of the party in a bid to form a formidable campaign team for the 2016 elections.

Peter Mac Manu, a former National Chairman of the party was over the weekend, officially out-doored as the Campaign Manager at the NPP’s special conference in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.

[contextly_sidebar id=”LZtdGf47PtpVcqm29gh9lcuD4KtWaXfl”]In an exclusive interview with Citi News, Mr. Mac Manu promised an elaborate campaign strategy to wrestle power from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He said “though I have been appointed leader of the campaign, every member of NPP, every supporter, every well-wisher is a member of the campaign because we need to get to every voter to explain the issue to them. Mac Manu and his team alone cannot do that.”

He added his team will among other things, train their polling station agents and will also boost their “voter contact.”

“We are going to contact each and every voter on the roll, the 14 million people and we have the structures on the ground to do that. After all if you have the 14 million people on the register and you look at the polling stations in the country, which is about 26,004, the highest number of people on the polling station is about 1,004. Within the 26,000 polling station, it is only about 4,000 that have that number, the rest, averagely the number is 500 to 800 people on the roll and if you have five people as your polling station executives, they live in the area, they attended school there, they know the people. They should be able to contact the 500 or so people on one on one basis. So that is what I’m saying, voter contact is what we are going to adopt,” Mac Manu explained.

Meanwhile Citi News is informed that the campaign team is currently in a meeting in Accra to finalise preparations for the campaign.
