The Black Queens are in contention for the 2015 CAF Women National Team of the Year. Ghana’s women national team faces competition from Cameroon who played at the FIFA Women’s World Cup where they reached the round of 16.

Despite missing out on the 2016 Olympics, the Black Queens won gold at the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville after beating Cameroon 1-0 in the final.

Zimbabwe is the fourth female national team shortlisted by the CAF Technical Group.
