Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, has pledged his support for campaigns aimed at ensuring peace in the country during, before and after next year’s general elections.
Speaking to co-host of Citi FM’s Traffic Avenue, Philip Ashong, Stonebwoy said, “I’m a citizen of Ghana, I belong to a country but I believe that I’m a citizen of the world first before a citizen of Ghana.”
Stonebwoy says although the stakes are high in the 2016 elections, the peace and stability of the country remains paramount and must be guarded at all times.
He thus pledged to step up wherever the need arises to promote peace, and urged other artistes to do same.
“We are all thriving in our own endeavors hoping to have peace whilst we go about our lives most especially as it an election year. Whenever I’ll be needed to add a voice to promote peace and tranquility to create awareness, I will be there. 2016 will require of us such duties” he noted.
He urged people to avoid any political skirmishes with the message “don’t fight, just vote, just elect, just choose”.
Decemba 2 Rememba Concert
But even before the year 2016 is rounded up with the elections, what has become known as the official Christmas party, the Decemba 2 Rememba concert, is set to end the year 2015, and it cannot be complete without the award winning artiste on stage.
Stonebwoy is asking music lovers to come energized for the concert. “We are there because of them and they are there because of us so they should come in their numbers.”
He assured fans he will bring his “A-game” on the night of #D2R2015.
The Citi FM event will feature other acts like E.L, Pappy Kojo, Gasmilla, Kontihene, Atom, Eazzy, Okyeame Kwame and a host of others.
The event will be held on December 24 at the Accra International Conference Centre. The dress code for the event, like every other year, is white top and jeans.
