[contextly_sidebar id=”R5lgS1lbvss4QJL3pHZZTXhBQ8DrIqVr”]ING May Obiri-Yeboah noted that the commission’s donation is to support the Ghana Police Service’s enforcement programme before, during and after the Christmas season.

Citing accident statistics from over the years, ING May Obiri-Yeboah indicated that there have been reductions in accident cases recorded over the years.

According to her, “From January to November this year, a total of 9,904 cases of road traffic crashes have been reported involving 15,505 vehicles. These crashes led to 1,938 cases of pedestrian knock downs, 1,474 deaths and 8,448 injuries.

This situation reflects a reduction of 17.5% in reported cases over the same period of January to November, 2014.”
Receiving the items on behalf of the police was the Director General of the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD), ACP Patrick Adusei Sarpong.

ACP Patrick Adusei Sarpong assured the general public that, the MTTD will continue to ensure that all road users abide by all road regulations to reduce accidents especially during the Christmas season which is notorious for road accidents.
