The First Lady Lordina Mahama says the vocational sector presents a greater employment opportunities for the youth, urging those who find themselves in it to approach it with seriousness.

According to Mrs. Mahama, youth empowerment is at the core of her heart, hence her strive to empower the country’s young people.

Speaking at the 12th graduation ceremony of the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association in Accra, the first lady charged the trainees to put in their best to produce quality results and also desist from laziness.

“In the U.S and Canada, graduation ceremonies are generally referred to as commencement, by this reference; it means your graduation today does not signal an end to your training. In fact, this ceremony merely points to your beginning, the commencement of a brand new chapter in your lives as beauticians or hairdressers and you are going to be the authors of that chapter”.

She further pledged her full support to GHABA and tasked the new trainees to impact their profession positively and also contribute their quota to nation building.

“You will therefore write your own success stories and I am confident that you have gotten what it takes to distinguish yourselves in this vocation”.

The First Lady donated hair products and equipment from her Non-Governmental Foundation, the Lordina Foundation, to the best students on the occasion.

The trainees received certificates.
