Member of Parliament for the La Dade – Kotopon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region , Nii Amasah Namoale, has rendered an apology to the leadership of his party, the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC), for his during and after the party’s November primaries.

[contextly_sidebar id=”rv7o997DyspI0PWHzCeUs9aIJB7Pyl92″]Mr. Namoale, who was re-elected as the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency together with the Ningo Prampram Constituency’s Sam George George, were suspended by the Greater Accra Regional Branch of the party for misconduct last week.

Namolae is said to have accused the regional executives of working against his re-election while Sam George reportedly instigated party members against the regional executives and accused them of “perpetrating fraud.”

In the said apology letter dated December 7, 2015, Mr. Namoale said:  “I write to offer an unqualified apology to the Leader, National Executives and the entire membership of our great party for the things I said in the aftermath of our primary election in the Dade-Kotopon Constituency.”

The letter dubbed “Letter of Apology to the party I love” and addressed to the National Chairman and General Secretary also stated “I recognize that my statement did not reflect the united front our party seeks to promote. I must state that I am a keen believer in the tenet of our party and I have absolute faith in its structures. I am therefore by this letter apologizing for the said remarks, which were made in the exuberance of the events following our elections. Please accept the assurances of my highest respect and regard.”

Meanwhile reports from the national leadership of the party suggests that, it has nullified the decision to suspend Mr. Sam George.

When asked for details of this on Citi Eyewitness News on Monday, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC did not confirm, except to say that those matters will be clarified later, since the party is now focused on President Mahama’s nomination of Amissah-Arthur as running mate.
