“There were two kids in the house at the time but they are both safe” he added. According to him, the kids amidst screaming, hurriedly run out of the house when the fire started.

The fire started around 1:30pm but the fire fighters arrived at the scene at 2:00pm. According  to the security guard for the Latex Foam Showroom,  Fred Twum Barimah, the first fire tender  to arrive at the scene had no water to fight the fire.

It is unclear yet what started the fire. But the Accra Regional Fire Officer,  Emmanuel Simpson, says the fire may have been triggered by an electrical fault.

He advised the public to be cautious with the onset of the harmattan season, since more fire outbreaks are likely to occur during the period.
