The Head of the National Inspectorate Board of the Ministry of Education, Professor Esi Sutherland-Addy, says there is the need for a better and detailed explanation of government policies particularly on education.
This she believes will help Ghanaians understand and appreciate the value of the policies better if government takes the pain to explain properly.
Government rolled out several programmes in the educational sector, including the provision of free school uniforms and sandals mostly to deprived pupils.
But critics say government appears to be placing more emphasis on accessibility to education rather than quality.
Professor Sutherland-Addy, daughter of the late Afua Sutherland, named after the Afua Sutherland Childrens’ Park, was speaking on the ‘Time with the legends’ segment on the Citi Breakfast Show.
