The Vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in a rather sarcastic manner, has chronicled the promises made by President John Mahama and his officials to end the energy crisis since 2012.

He highlighted promises by President, John Mahama, Deputy Power Minister, John Jinapor and the current Minister of Power to Kwabena Donkor, who promised to resign if he did not end Dumsor.

He stated that it was a fact that “this government inherited an economy without dumsor in 2009… By 2012 however, dumsor was the order of the day.”

Dr. Bawumia noted that this led to a promising spree that he feels showed that either the government did not understand the power generation problem before them or “they were deliberately misleading Ghanaians.”
