All former Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives of the erstwhile Kufuor administration in the three regions of the north, have admonished the New Patriotic Party’s suspended Chairman, Paul Afoko, to respect the party’s constitution.

Despite his suspension, Paul Afoko still prides himself as the NPP’s National Chairman and continues to issue press statements through his spokesperson.

He has vowed to go to court but he is yet to put that threat into action.

[contextly_sidebar id=”TykabSseX77UH1mz0VF4JrLVgm01Nwvw”]Addressing the media in Tamale, Chairman of the former MMDCEs Association in Northern Ghana, Alhaji Iddrisu Adam Yoggu, described Paul Afoko’s behavior as uncharacteristic of northerners.

“Mr. Afoko’s own behavior and posture now is uncharacteristic of the northerner we know; there may be unseen hands manipulating him. One wonders what legacy our brother wants to bequeath to us as northerners in the NPP like his predecessors who occupied such high positions before him. We are at a loss as to what he wants to be remembered for.”

He lamented, “Just listen to the so-called Spokesperson around Paul Afoko. Its as if he has lost control over his oratory,” Alhaji Yoggu remarked.

The former Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive said the NPP’s political opponents misconstrued Paul Afoko’s suspension to his northern origin.

Alhaji Iddrisu Adam Yoggu downplayed that assertion against the backdrop that the NPP emerged from then Northern Peoples Party.

He urged all northern NPP loyalists to ignore the NDC’s continuous attempt to tag the party as one that abhors northerners.

“Mr. Afoko has suddenly lost his voice and the way forward is for well-meaning Ghanaians in general and the people of the north in particular to advice him to accept and respect the party structures.”

Alhaji Iddrisu Adam Yoggu praised the NPP’s torchbearers from the north including Chief S.D Dombo, Tolon Naa Alhaji Yakubu Tali, Lawyer R.I Alhassan, Alhaji Aliu Mahama and CK. Tedam.

He encouraged the Ghanaian electorate to massively vote for the Nana-Bawumia ticket in 2016 to improve their well-being.
