Ghanaian midfielder Andre Ayew has expressed his desire to stay at his current club Olympique de Marseille for a while longer.

The player, whose contract runs out in 205, was a subject of transfer speculation last summer and there are rumours of interest coming in from other European clubs.

These have been heightened in recent weeks by the imminent arrival of former Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa to the Stade Velodrome to replace current coach Jose Amigo but Ayew has remained firm on his wish to stay with Les Phoceens.

“ I am not worried about who comes in as our coach be it Bielsa or not. What concerns me is what Marseille puts in place and the mentality for next season.

After all that has been said about Bielsa, we really do not know him. Is he has crazy as they say he is?

Personally, I think he can help the club especially in terms of a new approach. And if we must win trophies with him, that is fine with me.

I had opportunities to leave last season but I stayed on. I am very happy here and I am proud to be part of this team.”

Ayew has scored 5 league goals this season for OM and he indicated that he would like to give more to the club he has played for since age 15 only if Bielsa sees him as part of his plans for the coming seasons.

“ I am in the frame of mind to stay but it all up to Bielsa and whether he wants me here or not.

However, the club has other priorities at the moment like getting the new coach and bringing in players.

The people here know my position and if they are ready, the president knows where to find me.

For me, it has always been about the project at Marseille and that is it.”

Ayew is expected to play OM’s last two games of the season against Bordeaux and Guingamp before joining the Black Stars for pre-World Cup 2014 camp after it was revealed by Citi Sports’ investigations that he was part of the 30-man provisional Black Stars to be made public on Monday 12th May, 2014.
