Major Albert Don-Chebe (Rtd), Director-General of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), has been elected president of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), which is affiliated to the African Union and headquartered in Dakar, Senegal.
Major Don-Chebe takes over the presidency from Mr. Tewfik Khelladi, Director-General of the Algerian Broadcasting Corporation, who occupied the position for four years.
A statement sent to the Ghana News Agency said the election took place at the 9th Annual General Meeting of the AUB at Abuja, Nigeria, on 27th November, 2015.
The AUB is a continental umbrella association for all broadcasting companies in Africa and has a membership of 48 national broadcasting entities, with 15 private broadcasting companies as associate members.
