Gyan Apenteng inducted as new NMC chairman

Kwesi Gyan Apenteng, a member of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) has been elected as the new chair for the National Media Commission (NMC).

Mr. Apenteng prior to his election served as a Commissioner on the board of the NMC.

Meanwhile, eighteen members including Citi FM’s Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Attah-Mensah, Managing Editor of the Insight News Paper, Kwesi Pratt and Gina Blay of the Daily Guide will steer the affairs of the  National Media Commission, NMC, for the next three years.

They are the 8th commission to manage the affairs of the body.

Outgoing Chairman of the NMC,  Ambassador Kabral Blay Amihere at the swearing ceremony, charged newly sworn in members of the commission to avoid engaging in active partisan politics before, during and after the 2016 elections.

According to him, they must put Ghana’s interest first to avoid any political tensions during the said period.
