An Accra Circuit Court has acquitted and discharged Reggae Artist, Ekow Micah who was facing trial for unlawful possession of narcotics.

In his judgement, presiding judge, Justice Aboagye Tandor, said he arrived at the decision because the defence raised sufficient doubt over the case of the prosecution which had the duty of proving Ekow Micah’s guilt.

[contextly_sidebar id=”OADa4y79hzu6KMIMP4Nd08JvWDGIXnUu”]The reggae musician, Ekow Micah, was arrested by the police in August this year, and accused of allegedly possessing over 127 grammes of cannabis sativa found and concealed in his back pack.

Commissioner of Police (ACP) ACP Atibillah, earlier told the court that a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was found concealed in Micah s “back pack” after an extensive search was conducted at his residence.

He however denied these allegations and pleaded not guilty.
