Julius Gbede, alias Bible, 23, charged with conspiracy, robbery, and murder in relation to the death of , Keli Dodzi, 43, at Aflao, has been has remanded in custody by the Aflao Circuit Court.

Gbede, who is to reappear before the court on November 30, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the prosecution, Gbede was one of the five robbers, who armed with sophisticated weapons in October, attacked and robbed a trader at her residence at Laklevikope near Denu and while being pursued, engaged the security in a shoot-out.

Some of the bullets from the fleeing robbers hit the abdomen of Dodzi, who was then aiding the security to track the robbers through the shrubs.

He died later at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra and is yet to be buried.

He said follow-up hints led the team to the Kokomba Market, also in Accra, where Gbede was spotted at about 2130 hours, last Friday, and he was picked up.

The Crime Officer said Gbede, who was the ringleader, admitted the offence to the Police and mentioned the names of three others still on the run.

Meanwhile, Kwabla Bikor, 22, who was earlier arrested, has since been jailed 28 years on his own plea but faces trial on the charge of murder, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
