The Bono Ahafo Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the alleged murder of a 6-year old girl in Penkwase, Old Abesim, a suburb of Sunyani.

The deceased, Ama Dora, was reported missing on Saturday morning.

This triggered a search for her by residents led by the assembly member for the area.

Ama Dora’s lifeless body was later found, buried on the premises of a school in the area, Infant Jesus School.

Graphic images of the deceased available to citifmonline, shows the skin of deceased  has peeled off.

Bono Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Christopher Tawiah, who confirmed the incident to Citi News, however ruled out a possible ritual murder explaining that no part of her body was taken away.

“On Saturday 21st November at about 7:00am, the deceased was left home by the mother who went to farm. So on her return from the farm, the child was not found so she made a report to the police the next day as a missing child. Then on Sunday, the area Assembly Member organized a search party to trace her whereabouts, then on Monday she was found buried in a hole buried at the premises of the Infant Jesus School. Then the police were alerted so we went there to exhume the body. Our observation revealed that no body part has been taken away, but the girl was actually killed and dumped in that small hole.”

He added “the body has been taken to the Regional Police Hospital morgue waiting autopsy. It is only the pathology that can determine the cause of death but as it is now, no arrest has been made. But the police will invite some persons for investigation and that will include the proprietor of the Infant Jesus School on whose premises the body was found.”
