A great game at the Accra Sports Stadium for the Mo Ibrahim Governance Cup between a Ghana select side and African champions TP Mazembe ended in embarrassment as concert lights were lit to replace defective stadium floodlights.

The flood lights at the National stadium have been in poor state for sometime with the National Sports Authority blaming the lack of resources from the ministry of youth and sports for their inability to maintain them.

With Mazembe leading 3-1 and dusk falling the organizers had to turn to the lights that had been fixed for a music concert to light up the stadium to avoid international embarrassment with the president of Ghana,John Dramani Mahama in attendance.

The lighting situation took the shine off what had been until that point a decent game of exhibition football with a plethora of stars both active and retired like Godfred Saka,KofimOwusu,Laryea Kingston and Stephen Appiah all participating.
