The Lands Commission has disclosed that the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) had duly paid compensation over a land it acquired in 2011.

Mrs Theodora Mends, Deputy Chief Lands Valuation Officer at the Lands Commission, said this when she appeared before the Judgment Debt Commission in Accra.

She said the 185.30 acres of land which is located at Antwereboanda near Eyam in the Western Region was acquired by an Executive Instrument (EI) 35 and was published together with acquisition plan.

According to her, the Ntwea family, which owns the land, put a claim requesting for compensation and it did so through a private Valuer called the Goldstreet Real Estate Consult.

She explained that the Lands Commission raised an issue with the money that was being demanded by the private Valuer as compensation and both parties finally agreed on GHC 4,400,000.

Mrs Mends said BOST has since paid the money in two tranches to the Antwea family.

The Chief Executive Officer of BOST, Director at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and the representative of the Goldstreet Real Estate Consult would appear before the Commission on 20th May, 2014, to testify before it over the same matter.
