Twelve constituencies who were to vote in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries for today [Saturday] November 21, have had their voting rescheduled for [Sunday],  the National Organizer of the party, Kofi Adams has confirmed to Citi News.

[contextly_sidebar id=”ZtAxjgtHhPGmGvcAvqidr5U2TKEqB12Q”]This is as a result of anomalies and other irregularities identified during the voting process in the affected constituencies on Saturday.

“Constituencies like New Edubiase, Bosomtwi, Agona, Tepa and others, had shortages with parliamentary ballot papers so they have also suspended the entire voting and would also be voting tomorrow [Sunday]. So in the Ashanti Region, we are talking about 12 constituencies that will be voting tomorrow [Sunday].

“In Greater Accra, only one constituency was suspended and they will have their right to vote tomorrow [Sunday]and that is Ningo Prampram,” he explained.

According to Kofi Adams, although voting in Akwatia in the Eastern Region has also been suspended , the party has not yet given a specific date for another election because “it has nothing to do with voting materials.”

Suspension of polls in the Ashanti Region follows a similar action taken at the Ningo Prampram constituency after one of the aspirants, Sam George, alleged that his name and that of 3,000 others, had been deleted from the register.

That constituency is also expected to hold its elections on Sunday. The primary in the Kumbungu Constituency of the Northern Region, has also been postponed to Sunday November 22.
