Kissi Agyabeng, lawyer for investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has expressed disappointment in former Attorney General Martin Amidu, for failing to provide evidence to support his recent claims that the journalist is operating a fraudulent company.

Amidu has in his recent epistles chided Anas and described his team as “fraudulent” and “dummy.”

[contextly_sidebar id=”LFVHsujJAJFVGvkTHOtPkfpwj2GVwzRM”]He alleged that Anas had edited and sheltered an exposé  on some of Ghana’s Parliamentarians.

In his latest epistle, he supported his claims that Anas conspired with government to cover up the piece.

Reacting to Amidu’s series on his client, Kissi Agyabeng in a sharp rebuttal said Amidu in his latest epistle only hurled insults at his client and failed to provide any evidence to substantiate his allegations.

“Today I was expecting Mr. Amidu to bring evidence as he had promised that my client edited some of the videos and sheltered some of the judges. What he brought today was rather insults, calling people fraudulent. Is that his evidence? That is why I am asking if we should take him serious on this issue.”

According to the lawyer, Mr Amidu is opposing Anas’ investigative team “because he is doing someone’s bidding to divert the attention from his  investigation.”

“He should stop doing other people’s bidding if he is really into anti corruption. The anti corruption business, from the experience I have gathered from my client, you don’t people’s bidding. It is In his interest and the interest of the country for him to come home.”
