Attram describes Ghanaian league as backward and inactive

Veteran Accra Great Olympics striker Godwin Attram has tagged the Ghana league as stagnant and primitive.

The former Black Stars player arrived from Dhofar SC in an attempt to help his parent club stay afloat in the top flight following their promotion from division two, but was unsuccessful leading to their relegation on final day.

Key among his disappointments is the lack of a well-thought out strategy to ensure the league reaches the masses coupled with the archaic technology employed at various match centers.

“Back then, we all watched the Bundesliga and not the English Premiership but due to the use of the media the story has now changed. It’s all about the media and they market their league very well and this is very important. If we were doing same with our league, I believe our league will rank among the best out there” he noted.

“In places like Saudi Arabia and Dubai marketing has taken the league to the rest of the world and this brings in a lot of money so why can’t we do the same here. In terms of coverage, it’s really poor because you can only count about 2 cameras around the entire stadium and that’s not right. You need cameras all over to enhance visibility and analysis.

“I left the league 18 years ago and on my return nothing has changed, he told Citi Sports in an interview.
