Some executives of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Odododiodio Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, are demanding a disciplinary action against their Chairman, Raymond Ntu-Ana, for allegedly taking part in last Thursday’s demonstration at the party headquarters.

The executives say Raymond Ntu-Ana was part of the pro-Afoko supporters who picketed at the party’s office and presented a petition in which they called for the reinstatement of the suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko.

Their call follows the suspension of four constituency Chairmen in the Ashanti Region, who also reportedly took part in the pro-Afoko protest.

[contextly_sidebar id=”WfESzZZLBVeWrR603dPmqvoizfxzj7cU”]Speaking to Citi News after a news conference, NPP Constituency Secretary for Odododiodio, Samuel Ofosu, said all party members must respect the decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to suspend Paul Afoko.

He says they will officially petition the party’s disciplinary committee on the conduct of their Chairman.

“Our chairman’s name has popped up on several occasions as one of those who were part of organizing that protest. His name was mentioned on Oman FM by Kwabena Agyepong’s aide, OPK. He mentioned the names of constituency chairmen who were part of the organization and were calling for Afoko’s reinstatement. But as a party, we believe that we should respect the decision of the NEC”.

He added “as a party, we’ve realized that the name of Odododiodio always comes up for the wrong reasons so this time around we want to dissociate ourselves from it because we respect the decision of the NEC. An impression is being created that executives want Afoko reinstated but they are just few. I wanted for Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong, but for party cohesion, I think it is time that one has to just throw in the towel.”
