Suspected armed robber burnt alive in Asawase

A suspected armed robber has been reportedly burnt alive by residents of Asawase in the Ashanti Region.

According to an eyewitness, Emelia Anogye, the incident occurred specifically at Dogo Moro park.

Narrating the incident to Citi News,Emelia said the residents beat the 20-year-old  up and set him on fire after he resisted an attempted arrest.

“They beat the guy very well…As  of now I can’t tell what he stole but reports indicate that he pulled up a scissors to attack them when they tried arresting him so they ended up beating him.”

Kumasi has over the years recorded a number of similar incidents that have in some cases led to the death of victims involved.

The situation is also rife in other regions including the Greater Accra region, Northern Region among others.
