The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has held its second anniversary in Tarkwa with a call on Ghanaians to vote the party into power, come 2016, for the rapid growth of the country.
Addressing the party supporters from all 10 regions over the week-end at the fore court of the Tarkwa community centre in the Western Region, the founder and 2012 presidential candidate, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, noted that Ghanaians are suffering under the government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He said although the PPP is not in governance, it has created jobs for thousands of Ghanaians, and hopes to do more when the party is given the mandate.
According to him, the PPP has competent people to deliver and is also prepared to work in the best interest of Ghanaians.
The PPP founder pledged to use all the qualities and experience he had attained over the years to improve the current state of the economy which has slowed down businesses, leading to economic hardships.
Dr. Nduom gave the assurance the PPP government would work hard to promote the socio-economy of the country.
The party’s first vice chairperson, Mrs. Mary Ankomah Boakye Boateng noted that the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have nothing to offer Ghanaians, because they have failed to initiate policies that would enhance the country’s development.
Mrs. Boateng, therefore, appealed to Ghanaians to ignore these parties and rather vote PPP into power for total development.
The constituency chairman for Tarkwa Nsueam, Anthony Korsah also encouraged members of the party to unite and begin their door to door campaigns to canvass for more votes
Other leaders of the party spoke against corruption and the fast depreciation of the cedi, which they said, was affecting the local market.
