Tigo honoured at Ghana Military Academy graduation

Roshi Motman, CEO of Tigo Ghana has been presented with a special sponsorship award by the Ghana Military Academy during its 2015 graduation ceremony for newly commissioned officers at Teshie in Accra.

The award was presented by His Excellency, the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama on behalf of the Ghana Military Academy for the company’s continued support to the Academy over the years.

This follows Tigo’s donation of GHC 30,000 towards the Military Academy’s 2015 graduation ceremony.

The donation which took place at the Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) included a cheque and assorted Tigo products worth GHS 30,000.

Presenting the cheque, the Director of Tigo Business, Gottfried Odamtten-Sowah spoke on how the donation would go a long way to strengthen the ties between the Military Academy and Tigo Ghana.

In his address to the military delegation, Mr. Odamtten-Sowah stressed on the importance of giving back saying, “at Tigo, we believe in giving back to the communities, businesses and organizations we operate in and work with. We are here today to further foster the existing goodwill between the Ghana Military Academy and Tigo Ghana, and to solidify our military and civil ties.”

The Commander of the Ghana Military Academy, Brigadier General Mike Akpatsu, receiving the items and the cheque, expressed gratitude for Tigo’s continued support towards the training needs of the Academy. He used the occasion to call on corporate bodies to support public service offices.

The donation represents Tigo’s ongoing support to the Military Academy for the second consecutive year.
