Speaking to Citi News on the development, a Deputy Minister of Education, Alex Kyeremeh said the affected teachers will be prosecuted.
“In every profession, we have this quacks who parade themselves as professionals. Ghana education service, which has teachers all over the place also has people parading themselves as professional teachers all over the country.”
He noted that they have received reports from Manya Krobo and Nkoranza North of teachers operating with fake documents.
Alex Kyeremeh indicated that a committee had also been established to go round the country to validate certificates of teachers.
“We are awaiting results from the Director General to brief the minister about the exercise but I can tell you in all sincerity that some people are using fake certificates to teach and they are also collecting commensurate salaries. It is our hope that by the time this exercise is complete, we will be able to unravel why and how people were able to falsify certificates in the country and be teaching and collecting salaries to that effect.”
He also called on the National Security to help clamp down on such teachers.
