The 15th edition of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards came off last night at the Accra International Conference Center. Dubbed the biggest night of entertainment in Ghana, it was quite a show thanks mainly to the fun, sarcasm and commentary on social media.

Ghana’s twitter-sphere has been actively analyzing the event from the red carpet to the show through to the reactions.

Some winners have taken to social media to thank fans for their support and some fans have also been expressing their disappointment.

However, the main attraction is the analysis, the jokes and the extreme sarcasm.

Tweets that attracted some of the most reactions included:

@Fhresh_matic: Ghana has natural resources like gold, diamond, manganese and @Joselyn_Dumas

@_Ato__: This Jupiter guy should just concentrate on his planetary duties and relinquish music.

What is currently trending for Ghana currently on Twitter are Cindy Thompson, #sark, #VGMA, Elikem, Stephen Appiah, Daasebre, Joey B, Chris Attoh, Shatta Wale and Sonnie Badu – all because of last night’s event.

The Ghana Music Awards was a great show, thanks to social media – especially Twitter.
