The New Patriotic Party youth groups in the Bongo Constituency of the Upper East Region have lauded the indefinite suspension  of the party’s National Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko.

Speaking at a press Conference  in Bongo, convener for the  Youth group,  Abugre Jonathan said the suspension of National Chairman Paul Afoko was in the interest of the party and must  be respected.

[contextly_sidebar id=”vh9Vhk4bOWFG7MrD0AtSaMfhISvp6Pod”]”It is about time we started counting the internal unrest in the party since Mr. Afoko assumed office as the chairman of the party and we appreciate the decision taken by the National Executive Council. We can attest to the fact that the party has been hit with loads of heart breaks from one problem to another coupled with  unfavorable media outbursts due to the actions and inactions of Mr. Paul Afoko,” he added.

Jonathan Abugri also said “it is hard but we must say that, his tenure as National Chairman is dwindling the fortunes of the party due to the numerous and incessant media mockery all because of his inability to unite the party.”

“We are therefore calling on all well-meaning supporters and members of the NPP to collectively support the decision taken by the NEC and the Disciplinary Committee  in order to restore calm in the party so that they can expose the rot in this incompetent and inept Mahama-led Administration rather than fighting amongst ourselves,” Mr. Abugre stated.

Mr. Abugre  challenged  Mr. Afoko to show  patriotism and love for the party  by allowing party structures to work and halt using the media.

He also appealed to Andrews Awuni to come back home and rescue the Bongo constituency to salvage  the suffering and underdevelopment in the area under the incompetent  NDC government.

In a related development, the group further urged former press secretary to Ex- president Kuffour,  Andrews Awuni to halt the public outbursts.
