New Hearts of Oak coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi says he wants to win the league and MTN FA Cup in his first season with the club.
The Japanese-American coach was unveiled by the club on Wednesday after he agreed a two-year deal with the team’s management.
Hearts finished 13th last season in the First Capital Plus Premier League and were eliminated at the semi-final stage of the MTN FA Cup but Yatsuhashi has promised to lead the team to win the two competitions in the coming season.
“I know that Hearts is one of the biggest clubs in Ghana and in recent years, the team has not done well and the fans expect better from the team. I have a plan to take this team forward but I cannot say much until I start working with the players. However, the goal for this club is to win the league and FA Cup.”
The coach is expected to hold his first training session today and he has already stated his readiness via his Twitter handle:
Yatsuhashi will have Yaw Preko as his assistant and Nasamu Yakubu of the Black Stars as the team’s goalkeeper’s trainer.
