September PPI declines to 3.7%

The Producer Price Inflation (PPI) decreased to 3.7percent in September from the 3.9 percent recorded in August 2015.

[contextly_sidebar id=”ZhGj0w5XW9NSzPzE6TfS2lxjLk0Y0tjn”]This comes after the Ghana Statistical Service revised the August 2015 PPI from the 4.4percent to 3.9 percent.

The Producer Price Index measures the average change overtime in prices received by domestic producers for the production of their goods and services.

The month-on-month change in producer price between August and September 2015 was 1.1 percent.

The utilities sub sectors recorded the highest inflation year – on – year producer price inflation rate of 7.2 percent in September followed by the manufacturing subsector which recorded 4.3 percent while the mining and quarry sub sector recorded an inflation rate of 2.7 percent.
